These learning tools are designed to help you to:

• confidently select examples of fair tests from a range of teaching resources that suit your theme, check them for safety requirements and plan for students being able to conduct the investigation in the class.

• teach about the steps to be undertaken when following a procedure and selection of appropriate equipment for the task at hand.

Where to next?

In level 2 ‘Planning Investigations’ you will learn about how to explicitly teach about variables and planning a fair test. You will also learn how to support students to generate “testable questions” as the basis for their scientific investigation.
